Dear Parents,

 

Your child will have the pleasure and company of our physical education pet, Exercise Eddie who is an important part of our classroom environment.  Exercise Eddie will accompany your child on his or her exercise related travels outside of school.  Your child is encouraged to write in the composition book (journal) about the experiences he/she had while Exercise Eddie was living with your family.  Encourage your child to recall the experiences orally, then put the telling into writing. If writing sentences at this point is too discouraging for your child, your child can dictate the story while you write it.  You can write with, to or by your child.  A picture drawn by your child or photographs could also be included to illustrate the experience.  Another important part of this experience is to reread what is written to make sure that it says what the writer intended.

 

ALSO, READ the journal writings that the other children have already recorded and share them with your family! 

 

Please return all materials to Mr. Hosterman after 2 days. Your child will then share his/her journal entry and picture/s with the class!
